Graduate Course Developers
The National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) is seeking two talented individuals to develop graduate-level courses on spectrum management for students with a bachelor's degree in physics or astronomy. These 1 credit courses will be delivered online and completed asynchronously. The ideal candidate for the policy course will create a comprehensive curriculum covering key concepts like spectrum management terms, national and international agencies, allocation tables, and the FCC Rulemaking process. While the ideal candidate for the engineering course will create a comprehensive curriculum covering key concepts like engineering terms, RF wave propagation, antennas, and interference detection and mitigation. Responsibilities include developing recorded lectures, reading assignments, student activities, and assessments. These courses are being produced by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) as part of the National Radio Dynamic Zone (NRDZ) project. The NSF-funded NRDZ project has developed an NRDZ concept definition, designed and developed a prototype advanced spectrum monitoring device, and increased awareness of spectrum-related issues through educational programs.
